All Oakland Residents
Our
town has been named the 43rd "Best Place to Raise
Your Kids, 2007" by Business
Week magazine. The article, written by
Douglas MacMillan, ranks the top 50 cities places in the
U.S. that offer kids - and their parents-the right
combination of safety, community, and education.
The
author worked with the national real estate researcher,
OnBoard, to create the rankings using various criteria.
Oakland received a total score of 286.86 in the
following categories:
Schools
Score - 12.81 (7th out of 50)
Recreational/Cultural
Activities Score - 29.19 (9th out of 50)
Test
Scores - 92.11 (ranked 45th out of 50)
Cost
of Living Score - 72.81 (ranked 45th out of 50)
Crime
Score - 79.93 (44th out of 50)
Oakland
was one of only 3 New Jersey towns, and is the only
metropolitan town, to receive this prestigious
honor.

Club is one of the largest Republican organizations in
Bergen County. Anyone interested in joining the
